Angela Fegers is an international dancer, choreographer, director, producer, and educator whose work bridges contemporary dance, immersive theater, and large-scale cultural production. A graduate of New World School of the Arts, where she earned her BFA in Dance, and Miami Dade College, she began her professional career performing in New York City and Miami, performing in masterworks by Merce Cunningham, Bill T. Jones, Peter London, and Earl Mosley at leading venues including Alvin Ailey Theater and 92nd Street Y. She danced professionally with Lindy Fines’ GREYZONE and furthered her training in both Graham and Cunningham techniques, establishing a rigorous classical and postmodern foundation that continues to inform her choreographic voice.
Expanding her practice internationally, Fegers relocated to Europe in 2016, where she developed a distinct body of immersive and site-responsive work presented across Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Portugal, and Iceland, with support from Dachverband Deutschland Tanz and the Cervantes Institute in Germany. Based in Berlin, she served for two years on the faculty of Danceworks Berlin and taught at Marameo, while collaborating with international artists including Pau Aran of Tanztheater Wuppertal and Sharon Eyal’s L-E-V. Her European period marked a deepening of her choreographic research, particularly in audience-integrated performance, interactive dramaturgy, and cross-disciplinary production.
In 2020, she co-founded Apricot Productions, an international production house based in Berlin dedicated to supporting freelance artists through logistical execution, marketing, and distribution. Through Apricot, she launched the ROOTED Series, co-curated the Pitch & Perform festival with support from NYU’s Dean’s Grant and Kultur LX Luxembourg, and developed initiatives spanning live performance, publishing, and podcast production. Her expertise in creative strategy and communications led to her role as Communications Lead for LAKE Studios Berlin and Submerge Festival. Her work with NYU led to mentorship as she became a Guest Lecturer at NYU Tisch. Her self-published PDF, Berlin für Dummies, helps young artists relocate from the USA to Europe.
In 2022, in Los Angeles, Fegers expanded into large-scale immersive direction and production, co-founding Hotel Who? with Monica Sharon Manarino, an overnight immersive theater experience that transformed historic hotels into narrative-driven performance environments blending choreography, dining, live music, and audience agency. She directed and produced multiple immersive residencies, including a 13-week original musical at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel—home of the first Academy Awards—as well as site-specific productions at the Hotel Normandie and in Hollywood.
Across continents, Angela Fegers’ career is defined by a seamless integration of performance, pedagogy, and production. Whether staging contemporary dance in Europe, mentoring artists through institutional partnerships, or directing immersive theatrical worlds in the United States, her work consistently dismantles the fourth wall, merges logistics with artistry, and invites audiences into fully realized, participatory experiences.
